  After a fun trip down memory lane with the original Civ IV, it was time to dive into Warlords and see what changed. The leaders add in this expansion aren't typically the leaders I would play and sadly, Catherine was updated and lost her financial trait. :( I loved the addition of unique buildings and the Great Wall wonder. Everything I love about Civ IV vanilla is still here and Warlords is a great expansion that adds a lot of extras to the game. There's little reason to buy this expansion if you have Beyond the Sword since everything added in Warlords is also part of BtS EXCEPT the scenarios. One thing I did experience while playing Warlords is that I found the difficulty to be higher than in vanilla or BtS. So maybe getting Warlords is ideal for those that want a little harder of a game. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  The first expansion pack to Civ 4, and it's basically what would have been a bunch of scenario and civilization DLCs for Civ 5 or 6. And a few wonders, a new great person (the general, kind of like the leaders you'd get from winning battles sometimes in Civ 3). All in all, it didn't really change anything from a vanilla game of Civ 4, but the extra content was nice. Of course this is all moot since you'd just buy the complete edition these days anyway...

  I love this game and this expantion, its fun to play and reletively simple. Dont really have to go in debth of game mechanics to understand whats going on, further more you can just get ahead in technology and kick everyone around in theyr buts. Just in general pretty well done game. There is some thing that i would love to be in it but for me its way way bether then civ v. :)

  No point in getting this as all the functionality of Warlords apart from the scenarios is included in Beyond the Sword. So get that instead. I've only got this because it was included in Civ 4 complete. Compare what you get with both in the links below.   In my ongoing and likely futile effort to write a Steam review for every game in my library (#334 out of 612)... it's time for Sins of a Civilization IV: Warlords. Warlords is a standalone expansion to Civilization IV with a focus on combat, and specific challenging scenarios based on, or at least loosely inspired by, real-life history. It's effectively Civilization IV but less of a sandbox, more of a focused experience. The core systems and mechanics are largely the same, and just as enthralling here as ever. Civilization did not become the preeminent grand strategy series by accident, after all. Note: Also played on PC, sans-Steam.
