Specialized equipment for the Helldiver that truly needs to hold ground. With this pack it is significantly easier to hold your ground against the enemies of mankind.

The Entrenched Pack contains:

• AT-47 Anti-Tank Emplacement: A well armored emplacement that has to be operated manually. Initially it was controlled by the standard Helldiver issue turret AI, but it was deemed far too volatile for automated operation.

• Anti-Personnel Barrier: An airdropped barbwire fence capable of slowing incoming enemies. The barbed wire itself does very little damage but will entangle pretty much anything before it can power through. Eventually things do get through, but hopefully the barrier will have bought the Helldivers some extra time to deal with the threat.

• SH-32 Directional Kinetic Shield: A shield pack occupying the backpack slot. It projects a shield in front of the wearer and will slow down incoming projectiles, significantly lowering their damage potential. While very powerful, it is limited in that it only protects its wearer from one direction.

    Hey There, AT turret - good only for defense maps. So you can let you teamates to fall asleep while you kill anything on your own. Or you can just get energy weapon and 4x EAT with strategem priority perk to do the same or better. It is not must have. Barbwire is better static field (snow field), it last longer and you can work around it unlike snow field. (you get 3 charges per map) Kinetic shiled looks good but it works only against low level enemies. If you really need a defense mechanism versus these, this game might not be for you friend. Go for a jump pack instead and kite them or for SH-20 shield which allows you to tank anything (1shot) + you can run trough Static field (snow field) and vs Iluminate you wont get confused. Even "Angel" drone might be better than this as it might outheal the dmg or get you up. You can skip this DLC

    The barbed wire fence is very useful against both cyborgs and the bugs when you need to hold a position for a longer period of time, as it's slows them down quite a bit. However it is useless against the illiminate which are almost all immune to it's effects, and also teleport past it entirely. The anti-tank turret is arguably terrible. It's one and only function is to kill the HUGE tanks that spawn when your defending. (It does that fairly well.) However it's nearly useless against smaller tanks and any other units because it tends to fire OVER them and miss them entirely. Since it's only useful against tanks, and it removed a soldier from the battle in order to use it, your almost always better off just being on foot and having an anti-tank weapon, because then you can also hit smaller enemies when no tanks are present. The directional shield generator is an inferrior version of the shield generator found in-game. It only protects your front, and it only "reduces" the damage you take, rather than absorbing it enirely like the in-game shield does. It does not protect you from "one-shots" like the illuminate snipers or the cybord tank cannons, those still insta-kill you. Technically the shield is best used to defend you from multiple small enemies attracking you with weaker weapons. (It reduces the damage you take by 2/3 from smaller weapons.) Whereas the in-game "bubble" shield lets you survive one hit from absolutely anything (except droppods) but doesn't work as well against multiple rapid smaller hits.

    recommended DLC. as the name implies, all gears included in this DLC are good for holding down locations (capturing, defending, extraction, even retaliatory strikes), thus adding diversity to one's playstyle. the AT-47 Anti-Tank Emplacement is very useful especially in higher level difficulties as it turns faster than a tank/exo. the Anti-Personnel Barrier is similar to static field conductors and though it does not have the same slowing effect as the SFC, the Anti-Personnel Barrier also works against vehicles (SFC does not slow vehicles). the SH-32 Directional Kinetic Shield is ok as well.

    The barbed wire is useful for blocking off routes enemy patrols use to walk up on the extraction beacon, killing them before they even get close enough to get in range. Otherwise, this is a stratagem that is rendered useless by the fact that normal enemies teleport onto you in a fight and 99% of the time the barbed wire is a greater limitation to helldivers than it is to their enemies. The shield is interesting but totally outclassed by vanilla Helldiver gear. The shield blocks 2/3 of incoming damage in the direction you're looking, which is good for cyborg worlds, but doesn't do anything to stop cannons or one-hit-kill shots from illuminates. The normal bubble shield or the displacement field perk would be better in nearly every circumstance imaginable. The anti-tank gun is good for high level arenas when you mix it with a healer. That's pretty much it. A good DLC if you have trouble paying attention to patrols, love teamkilling, or don't have 3 friends to help you with level-12 arenas.

    Shield that always stays on and gives massive damage reduction in one direction, also negating all damage from weak damage sources. I use this for everything no matter what Barbed wire is useful for situations of keeping infantry at bay and hurts them if they get close. And it stays for a very long time....this also works both ways Turret is very very useful for holding your ground against most enemies. Notably tanks. Best part is when it's fully upgraded, you can fire it point blank without damaging yourself I found this one of the more must haves of all the packs

    [b]Entrenched Pack[/b] [i]There should be definitely option to make a "mixed" review, but since I really love this game I will recommend Entrenched pack DLC[/i] While SH-32 Directional Kinetic Shield is very useful against most of the enemies, especially Illuminates and can save you from many situations, AT-47 is completely ruining every RS... You don't need skill nor experience anymore, you just drop AT-47 and it kills everything. That opens gates to noobs where they shouldn't be, it also disables 1 Helldiver in battle and he is blocking your camera, also Helldivers mostly don't care if you are near enemies they just blow you up with them. AT-47 is a big mistake and while HELLDIVERS™ is tagged as a challenging game, noobs drop NooB-47 and you have won every RS and defend missions. Anti-Personnel Barrier is okay, always an option instead of Static Field and last longer. [i]WARNING! most of people using AT-47 gets booted out from lobby, Veterans don't accept lazy and easy ways to win. Joining high level missions with AT-47 is a suicide ;)[/i]

    Shield- A good substitue to bubble, but not usefull against illuminate confusion Barb wire- Great in retaliatory strikes, or when defending objectives. Can annoy a lot of people though AT-47 (nicknamed 'Office chair') Recently its got nerfed so it takes damage when firing at things point blank, soo its not as good as it used to be, but thats no issue if you have a friend to cram a medig... uhm, rep-80 up your backside 24/7 Makes a lot of things pretty braindead
