  This game has great potential, it's very puzzly. However, there are several bugs that I've noticed and the game needs SO MANY quality-of-life updates. I've had a train get stuck on unloading. Selling items is a joke, like I can't sell a room until I've individually sold every item? And guess what, if you're viewing a specific layer, every time you sell something it reverts back to top layer. Yeah that gets annoying fast when you have to sell a whole bottom layer room item for item... Rotating view isn't centered. Advanced selection of sandbox parameters doesn't fully work. Staff don't follow priorities. Letters are kinda small, not great for people with reduced visibility. I could've overlooked a few of these things for great gameplay, but right it is exhausting.

  i'm autistic and i love trains and infanstructure. this game really scratches and itch i didn't know i had. thank you for the super fun game

  If you like Theme Hospital or its unofficial successor Two Point Hospital, you will auto-like this game. Its about managing a subway station and its a very nice challenge to do it through multiple layers. Graphics, gameplay is very lovely, you can see that is made by heart! Thanks devs!

  Initially it gives an impression that it has lots of small things/content/props to unlock and progress. Its a small game. In 3-4 few hours you will unlock 70% of everything. Still fun and nice graphics.

  This is by far one of the most frustrating games I've ever played with. The art is cute and all I really look forward to it but this game is not intuitive enough. I have never been so frustrated in editing rooms in my life. What does it even me I can only edit the walls after I am able to edit away a tile off the room??? The room editing needs more improvement. Is there a way to just move the doors to another side? That is the most frustrating for me and the floors can't be deleted due to that freakin' door!!! And can the developers maybe make the room "shine" when we click into the utility room, tool room etc on the panel? It will help to know how many rooms I have in total. As a new player, there's too many things to remember at the very start that it's overwhelming. There's too many things going on and too many words to read. Too many things to listen to. I understand this game is suppose to give commuter atmosphere but this is just a game. There should be a gradual busy atmosphere as you progress through the game.

  [UPDATE 9/5/20] BUY THIS GAME! - Devs are active, engage with community and communication is superb. [UPDATE 6/11/19: BUY THIS GAME!] This has been on my watch list for a long time! Initial impressions are positive - this doesn't feel like a half baked game released in Early Access to earn a quick buck. I shall edit this review as time goes on! [LONG TERM IMPRESSIONS ARE VERY POSITIVE] So far, tutorials are useful, and gameplay is fun - I have a feeling i'm going to sink many hours into this game! My biggest problem at the moment is that there is no way to scale the UI or resolution you are playing the game - meaning it's very difficult/unpleasant to play on a 4K display. This needs to be addressed ASAP. [UI SCALING AND MANY MANY MANY OTHER TINY NIGGLES HAVE ALL BEEN ADDRESSED]

  Sadly, though i think i'm the minority in this, i did not enjoy Overcrowd. That said it's not an awful game and there are a few pros that i can include: love the retro style, the premise is new and unique and i think there's a lot of scope to improve. Annoyingly though i feel there is quite a few cons that over shadow Overcrowd . The reputation system is borderline brutal on even medium levels and will punish you harshly for making tiny mistakes. The lack of management for your staff besides giving them tools and when to take a break is noticeable. If one of them is extremely upset they will make an extremely irritating crying sound that cuts through the rest of the audio. Not a great deal up upgrades - once you upgrade to the top tiers there's not much else to do but sit and watch. After a while your staff stop doing what you told them to do and collect in the staff room. Some technology makes little sense - the petrol generator for example. And more... I think another negative reviewer said its more of a puzzle than a simulation and i have to agree. It's not an awful game and i'm sure with some time i can be playable but right now it's certainly only just worth it's price. Sorry devs, was looking forward to this too.

  I played the game for a while and enjoyed most of it, but there are two pretty major flaws that make the game too frustrating for me to recommend. 1) [b]Not really multiple floors[/b] You cannot build multiple floors over each other. This is an important thing to note, because the game is being presented as a management sim when it is in fact more of a puzzle game with some building and management features thrown in. Once you build a floor on the ground level, you cannot build another floor directly underneath it. You can only build the lower floors of your underground station on tiles where there's no other floor on any level. This means you cannot have corridors or platforms cross over or under each other, which limits your options significantly. The station layout you see in the trailer is basically the only option you have. If you enjoy the puzzle aspect of this, you may like the game, but as someone who enjoys creative sandbox building, this is just not my kind of game. 2) [b]Micromanagement[/b] Your staff are not smart. You can tell one of your employees to do something, but they will only do it in a limited "perception radius", or they'll do it once and then get distracted. So you need to constantly be on the lookout for things that might be going wrong... Is this garbage bin almost full? Better check if there's a janitor nearby who can empty it, and if not send one this way. And then do the same thing for the 3 other garbage bins on this platform, not to mention the rest of the station. Multiply that by about a dozen different tasks, some only vaguely related to the actual station (does a small underground station really need a full-time medic on staff just in case someone passes out?), and you start to get an idea of the level of micromanagement this game entails. Oh, and if that wasn't enough, here's the kicker - your trains don't drive themselves. You have to click all your platforms when a timer expires, to call the next train. This isn't a big deal at the start of the game, but when you expand and get 4 platforms on 3 different height levels (which are some ways away from each other because you can't build underneath other floors) you end up constantly switching between the platforms to see if you can call the next train. If I wanted to keep clicking the same thing, I'd play Cookie Clicker. There is some end-game research to alleviate the micromanagement in calling trains, but it's locked away at the end of a tech tree and you'll have to summon your trains manually [i]a lot[/i] before you can even start automating it. And there's no solution (at least not that I've seen) for the staff issues. [b]Conclusion[/b] Overall, the basics of the game are pretty nice and it's definitely got potential. But unfortunately, once the early-game is over and you start building a second platform, the whole thing turns into a never-ending series of chores and frustration, rather than a challenging management game, and every time I tried I just quit out of frustration after I lose the game. Because a platform was getting overcrowded - because I didn't click on it to call a train fast enough, since I was busy managing my 3 other platforms. Or because there was a rat infestation - regardless of the fact that I had an employee dedicated to exterminating rats, but he happened to be standing on the other end of the corridor. So if you enjoy puzzle games with repetitive actions, this is the game for you! And it's a good one at that. But if you enjoy management simulation games, or sandbox building games in general, you'll probably want to look elsewhere.

  Just to update my review as this game leaves Early Access and prepares for Full Release. It is ready. It works, and it works well. I've been badgering the developer for over a year. Complaining about all manor of small details, and am extremely happy with his commitment to making sure as many of those small details as possible have been taken care of. I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes management sims. This game is a gem. Step one is watch some lets plays on Youtube so you know what you're in for. Step two is decide you can do better. Step three is buy the game and give it a try. Step four is watch as your well intentioned station fills up with litter, bodies and vomit. 5/5 Impressive game for a 2 dev team.

  Charming management and building sim from a 2 person team with the single-most responsive dev I have ever seen. Graphics make it a joy to play and I found the staff AI simple and effective. Each map takes a bit of planning due to the lack of space and ability to build directly on top/below other floors (more on that in a minute) but I found has a nice pace once you start building. Quite forgiving as you can build/remove floor tiles with no cash penalty. Overall there is a fair bit to manage but has a nice progression to avoid feeling overwhelming. Eventually specific scenarios start kicking in to really stress test your metro and will leave you scrambling to buy more mops as a flood of drunk soccer fans march in barfing every which way. (Thoughtfully the devs provide an option to disable 'human' sound effects) The biggest thing that sets this game apart is the 'limitation' of not being able to build directly on top of/below existing floor and assets. First starting out as a new player this feels like a big negative, but after playing through a map or two you begin to realize that this limitation actually adds a real strategy layer to the game. Instead of just flooring wall to wall, filling a floor with stuff and then moving down one floor and doing the exact same, you must plan out a general map in your head of your layout before you even place a single floor tile. It creates a nice little use of space puzzle aspect have never seen before in a management sim (think of the brain teaser tracing an object without going over the same line twice) and forces you to make tough decisions about exactly how/if every entrance and platform on each level can be accessed. Ultimately it makes each station much more unique and is really satisfying to get a fully operational 4 story metro running. I play offline so actual hours played are probably closer to 25-30.
