Shogo: Mobile Armor Division Özellikler

You play Sanjuro Makabe, a Mobile Combat Armor (MCA) pilot and Commander in the UCA Security Force. The UCA was originally formed by three dominant megacorporations (Andra Biomechanics, Armacham Technology Corporation, and Shogo Industries). Originally intended as a joint venture that would ensure the continued profitability of the three organizations that founded it, the UCA is now independent, and the dominant military power in existence.

Your mission is to locate and assassinate a rebel leader known only as Gabriel. All of the action takes place either on the planet Cronus or on the spaceship Leviathan. The Leviathan is the flagship of the UCA and is commanded by Admiral Akkaraju. Cronus is the only known source of the biologically active material known as Kato, an incredibly powerful energy source essential to the process by which interstellar travel is possible.

Your deadly enemy is The Fallen, a fanatical terrorist group lead by the mysterious Gabriel, threatens the balance of power on Cronus, and ultimately, control of Kato. You will fight them on your feet or from within one of the different types of Mobile Combat Armor, a giant mech which can run, duck, strafe, swim or transform into an ultrafast hovertank.

You will know the true power of giant robots!

  • Anime-influenced graphics and gameplay design

  • Fight on foot or pilot a giant mech in both open and urban environments

  • An interesting storyline with two possible endings

as good as a gem this is from my childhood, the fact its sold in a state that doesn't even run is insane. You have to download patches and fixes from vauuge forums to even have a shot of running it and even after all that it still doesn't run. and for 10$ to

While some might be interested in Shogo for the nostalgic value, or perhaps you were just a fan of other Monolith titles like FEAR or NOLF, the fact remains that this game is a complete chore to get working on modern systems. While the more technologically inclined can get it working after 30 minutes to an hour of tinkering, piecing together all the downloads you need from various sources scattered throughout the internet, the average user isn't going to want to go through the trouble. dgVoodoo2, fixoltdll.dll, AM18.dll, WidescreenPatch.rez all required for modern hardware/OS setups. Even with all these fixes there are still issues, for example my mouse cursor is perma-stuck in the middle of the screen. This is a glitch I've yet to find a fix for and it has been reported multiple times on the GOG forums. Seriously, this game is almost 20 years old, it ain't gonna get patched any time soon! I've also heard (though I cannot confirm) that the game is a lost cause on any monitors with a refresh rate higher than 60hz. If you REALLY want to get your 2d hands on Shogo, pick it up on GOG. At least it's cheaper there.

This is another great game from Monolith Producions. Just like in my Blood 2 Steam review, I'll say that it's a very 90's game in the way that you don't reload and you have to rebind all the keys because they're set to clasic dos games controls. "up arrow" moves forward and "left arrow" turns left. Being almost 20 years old and not optimized, you have to download a "Widescreen Fix". https://www.gog.com/forum/shogo_mobile_armor_division/widescreen_patch You will also need a "Borderless Windowed Program" like this one I use that workes with this game. http://store.steampowered.com/app/388080/

I am sure that anyone reading this review has not a single doubt about Shogo being a great and unique classic. So, I want to underline that this review is not about Shogo as a game itself, but about this release version. Shogo was originally released on the 15th October 1998 and re-released on 15th April 2017 here on Steam as the almost 19-year-old classic it is. The game does work, yes. But it is far from being satisfying: Framedrops (even in the option menus), stuttering, no fullscreen and a top bar on the screen to make it worse. Re-releasing a game almost 19 years after its original release for 9,99 euro is perfectly fine, but without any adjustments to make it run on modern systems, it is nothing but a quick cash-grab and a punch in the face of any long-time fan. Thus, I see no other option than giving thumps down, despite loving the game itself. I will rewrite this review to a positive one as soon as there is a patch released which makes the game work. If you are interested in my specs:

Intel Core i7-6700K
GeForce GTX 1080
16 GB DDR4-2666@2133
Windows 10 64 bit
I love this game! Ive beaten shogo so many times its not even funny. I know where every enemy is and every power up.....But i can not recommend spending your money on this unless you have an older machine that can run it or you want to download some programs that will help you run it. This is not optimized at all for Windows 10 at least. And i will say that no where on the store page does it say that it will run on your machine so i will give them that. The game is amazing and im proud to see it on steam....but until its been fixed to run on modern PCs then i would avoid this one for now.

I dont get why there are negative reviews mostly for Shogo. This is a classis FPS game from my childhood, and I have 0 (ZERO) technical issues running it on modern system with win10 without any 3rd party apps, or patches. Its just like it was back in 1998, if you miss those good old days, play it for gods sake :).

This is a very very veERYYY Rough gem. But I love it. It requires two external programs* to run on your modern system and a very simple editing of a config file to run near perfect, and once it runs, it runs. *just download and drag into the main game file* I don't review games, but after the credits I couldn't help but leave a review. So here goes. The AI is either dead-eye'd or dumb as hell. Once you get about half-way, or maybe sooner, you'll soon learn to abuse the AI behaviors and start feeling like Neo, or some anime character. They're also cheaters. I mean, complete cheaters. I'd say they're wallhacking, but I don't have proof other than some funny footage of one boss fight blowing himself up as he tried to shoot me through a wall with an explosive weapon. Some enemies will shoot you as soon as a door even starts to open, or before you've even rounded a corner. DON'T GET ME STARTED ON CORNERS The Dev's knew their AI wasn't smart, so they are VERY underhanded in their placements. Behind walls, right behind doors, right around corners. If you play this game, Savescum. If you get a healthkit, quicksave. If you get armor, quicksave. Kill many enemies? quicksave. Cutscene? quicksave. Quicksave? quicksave... is quick a word? I said it too many times now. You either play as Neo or as a SWAT team member, checking corners, suppressive fire, staying behind cover.. You may be Neo 75% of the time, but you're squishy 100% of the time. You do crits and so do your enemies. Some enemies will spawn at the end of a hallway with an instant kill rocket launcher. So you scavenge, and I MEAN SCAVENGE. You WILL put storeowners out of business, and make them change careers to semi-truck drivers with how much cargo they're going to have to replace, thankfully, ammo is common but health and armor are not. But you do get health back from critical hits, which are rather common. The weapons are satisfying, both in Mech and on-foot, BUT you'll eventually boil it down to what's most effective. Call me crazy, but the silenced Uzi you get the Second you actually start on-foot is stronger than any other weapons you can find on-foot. And in mech, the automatic rocket launcher is probably the best option for most encounters. Also the automatic sniper is good, but there's no scope. So it's just a machine gun. BuT WHATEVER. Map design is confusing. They put alot of effort in places you don't even need to go, and often try to mislead you for no reason. If you want to know where you're going, pay attention. This isn't Call of Duty and you're not in City 17 anymore. Leading by light? What's that? So just, shut up when important people are talking. If you forget, hit F1 for a log, but sometimes it might not even say where to go then. If all else fails, right-hand-rule. If that fails, Youtube lol. Don't get me wrong, the game is inspired. It gets across what it wants to. Cities feel big and looming, you feel like "yeah, I'm on a shitty desert planet." or "Yeah, I'm in an abandoned city". The intentional lighting is good at certain times too, like on the Leviathan. The story, I liked it. It's not Mass Effect or Half-Life. You don't really realize the game is ending until the credits start rolling? So. It goes fast. It's fun. But they depend on you having feeling and attachment for characters you've never seen, won't see, and don't know. Looking back, it feels like they had plans to extend the story in either other games or maybe a larger game, BUT THEN, in the credits, they say the general idea for Shogo/Metal Tek/Riot(Early names for the game) the story starts in the same place. You're a wuss (in their words) and you're more of less grieving the loss of people you knew in the war. And then things happen. Yaddayadda. Spoilers! In the end. If you like mechs, and you want something to take up a few hours of your life, either in spades or in one go, I reccomend it. It's a very niche game, so my descriptions will either turn you away or help you decide to buy it. It's a very rough gem, and I probably didn't do it justice in this review. There aren't enough mech games out there, so you have to enjoy what you can, and this game really had some heart put into it. You'll either love it or hate it. P.S. I can't imagine anyone actually read all of this, but if you did, thank you!

Well, it was a pain run this game in WIN10 but here is the solution (need to donwload some DLL's and a Voodoo Emulator "dgvoodoo wrapper"). Just follow the these points - extract the entire .rar inside the root folder of the game - run dgVodooSetup.exe and apply the configs Start the game, a launcher will come up, click on display, select: Renderer: Lithtech Direct3D Renderer (d3d.ren) Display: dgVoodoo DIrectX Wrapper Resolution: Whichever you'd like, I used 1440x900x16 without any problem. The game runs at fullscreen and no slowing problems. Currently on an Alienware R4 m17x with GTX1080 on my Graphic Amplifier PS: sorry for my bad english

"Shogo" is a late 90's game that you can easy complete in one evening. There are no solving puzzles, searching for complex secrets zones and keys, and most of the maps are very linear and highly. It's a cool little adventure that can be completed in 4 hours without any struggle. This game features both foot and mech stages, provides a large ammunition (but not really with a wide range of uses) and also let you choice of two plot forks closer to the end of the game. Also worth mentioning is the really good story as for a shooter, as well as the nice soundtrack. To play on a widescreen you'll have to install some fixes, which you can easily find in the Steam guides, but despite this, the game is really worth it.
