  What is DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue ? Repeating what I said in my review of the previous DeathSpank game, Im replaying those games recently here on steam cuz I finished them years ago outside steam and I had a fun again with the first game, even more fun with this one because its a great sequel overall, it continues exactly where the previous game ended and even shifts a bit the environment, in the previous game the locations you explored were a bit more like a fantasy/medieval-themed setting with a few shifts at the end, this sequel changes it to more modern/european-like settings, you will explore cities, battlefields, santa claus' base, even the moon, its all over the place, later in the game you get your own ship so you can sail and explore some islands, overall this sequel keeps the good humor of the previous game, soundtrack is still good however I found the plot here more engaging as there is some twists in the story near the end, gameplay it introduces new types of equipment even guns, the sidequests are more diverse and theres some new quality of life improvements, money is useful and the game is more challenging, I think theres even a free dlc pack that even lets you play coop if Im not wrong so overall it adds a lot of improvements and feels better and more fun to play than the previous game which was already good, its slightly longer aking around 10 and half hours to beat and its cheap, theres a bundle here on steam containing all games except the last one which is called the baconing btw (no idea why they removed deathspank from the title), that bundle is cheap especially during sales so I do recommend getting that bundle and finishing both games, theyre fun simple games.

  I was happy to hear more DeathSpank would be coming. Thongs Of Virtue is basically more of the same, which is great. The new content includes new weapons (assault rifles, bazookas, etc.), enemies and of course many environments to explore, but the formula stays the same. It also has a great deal of fetch quests and grinding, which can be kind of tedious if you play longer sessions, but all things considered, Thongs Of Virtue is on par with its predecessor! Personal playtime total: 20 hours

  I'm furious. I was playing this game and then on the 5.2 hours game time mark my save game got corrupted and I can't continue playing. The game crashes to desktop when trying to load the game. On the forum many players reported the same bug. Some players have come up with an unofficial patch that I can't get to work. So, we have on our plate another case of a completely broken, unfunctional game that is being sold to the Steam Store. What is that? What kind of companies are that? Why the developers never cared to fix the game? There are reports of that problem as early as 2013. What is that Steam, what kind of corporal politics? What kind of ethics, what kind of morality? Do you care just about money and success is that it? Remember to avoid Hothead games. And I didn't even get a refund because I played for more then 2 hours. What a wicked, completely unfair policy!

  This game was one that I played back in childhood and still I enjoy replaying it.

  Deathspank Thongs of Virtue. More of the same. Exactly the same. Same gameplay, Same UI, Same items. Same enemies. More thongs. Many more thongs. As much as a sequel can often be completely worthless because in an attempt to innovate and streamline it loses what made the original so great the opposite is also true. A sequel that does nothing new whatsoever will often feel hollow and foolish. Deathspank Thongs of virtue is one such sequel. It's a very simple action RPG that relies heavily on a quirky sense of humor that attempts to poke fun at the RPG genre in general. Unfortunately while the humor and silly art-style could carry the first game both have been worn quite thin by now and you are left with just the shallow action RPG that form the base of Deathspank's gameplay. Nothing has changed other than the story and if you have already played the original Deathspank this won't be much different. You should note, this game has a game breaking bug that corrupts your savegame if you exit the game at certain locations. The developers fixed the bug but never shared the update on STEAM. You have go find it yourself on the Steam forums and manually fix your savegame. Guess EA is rubbing off on them. Not really a game I'd recommend buying if you already played Deathspank. If you're new to the series you can safely pick either although playing both will be a stretch.

  I loved the original Deathspank, and only recently did I realize that the sequel was on Steam. Bought the game, started playing it; everything's going fine. About 5 hours in, I crash for the first time. "Well that was odd," I say to myself, but I reload and keep going. An hour later I crash again...only now I can't reload the save. It crashes as soon as I try. The humor is amusing enough - I love the item descriptions in particular - but I can't recommend the game because, well, I can't play it :/ I didn't think it was worth full price to begin with, after 10 or so years, but I never saw it go on sale. I definitely would not recommend risking full price on the hope that the game will work for you.
