Island Saga is a traditional RPG, relying heavily on dungeon exploration and turn-based combat. It sports an impressive set of items, skills and combat formations, which you’ll actually need to use effectively in order to beat the game on normal or harder difficulty. Combat is fast-paced, typically lasting 2-3 rounds at most. While you can avoid most random monsters, they respawn very fast, which can make navigating dungeon a bit of a hassle. Also worth noting: defeat in combat immediately leads to a game over. Controls: keyboard and mouse [b]STORY[/b] You play as the son (name of your own choice) of King Gultel, ruler of the Gultel kingdom. At the start of the game, your parents reach out to the neighboring kingdom of Bal to see if their princess Iris is willing to marry you. Iris decides she wants to see first if you’ve got the making of a king. Together with your parents, she makes up an excuse to go adventuring with you on a monster-infested island. However, right after the both of you leave, three other princesses from nearby kingdoms decide they want to get in on the competition. Soon thereafter, you find yourself in an adventuring party with four princesses, looking for a mysterious artifact. The story is light-hearted and quite shallow. The plot mainly consists of about 50 largely unrelated quests (‘find a cat’, ‘fix the floor of the restaurant’, ‘clear the plains of monsters’, that sort of thing). In nearly all cases, solving these quests requires you to go into a dungeon and kill a bunch of monsters. I suppose that once you clear enough of these quests, you’ll get some progression in the main storyline too. But I can’t tell you about that, as I didn’t actually complete the game. [b]QUALITY[/b] As a game, Island Saga has quite a few things going for it. The combat system is reasonably fleshed out, it plays smoothly and there’s more content than in many similar games. On the bad side though, it’s very repetitive and there’s no meaningful story or character development. The MC even has no dialogue of his own; instead, his intentions and actions are interpreted/narrated by the girls in his party. Said girls are all superficial stereotypes who are totally in love with the MC from the get-go. Worst of all, the game is buggy. I ran into game-breaking situations halfway through during two separate playthroughs, after which I was forced to start over from an earlier save. To be fair, the game warns you to save often at some point. Unfortunately, it doesn’t help (auto-save) or remind you to do so. So if you’re like me and forget to do it, there’s a real chance you’ll eventually (rage-)quit the entire thing. [h1]THE GOODS[/h1] [b]SUBJECT[/b] As expected, the lewd in Island Saga features your MC having sex with the four princesses and a mystery girl in his party. This is mostly vanilla-ish and consensual-ish. However, the girls tend to end up in embarrassing situations every now and then, and your MC is happily takes advantage of that. Luckily for him, they are in love with him, so they’ll end up liking it and/or forgiving him anyway. Oh, as you’d probably guessed already from the store page, this game is made for people who enjoy gravity-defying, skippy-ball-sized boobs. Typically, half the scene (or even half your screen) will be filled with them. Keywords: [spoiler]bondage, big breasts, group, fluids, monster, solo, straight, tentacles[/spoiler] [b]CONTENT[/b] At least 24 CG-based scenes (6 for each girl). In addition, each girl has an interactive and partly animated ‘free play’ mode, where you can do a number of sexual activities with them. [b]ACCESS[/b] You’ll encounter new scenes by completing certain quests (indicated by a heart symbol). Most of these quests are found in the guild; some however require talking to a certain NPC or princess in the city at a certain time. This isn’t clearly indicated, so you’ll probably need to do some searching for this or use a walkthrough. After seeing a scene once, you can revisit it from a gallery in the main menu. There doesn’t seem to be an option to unlock the full gallery (although you could probably download someone else’s save game somewhere if you’d like). Discovering a new scene usually also unlocks new actions to use during free play mode, which you can start by going to your bedroom. [b]QUALITY[/b] All images are drawn a by a skilled artist and of high quality. The interactive scenes are also pretty well made (even though there isn’t much difference between the scenes of the four girls). [h1]VERRO’S VERDICT[/h1] I’m conflicted here. I very much appreciate Remtairy as a developer/publisher, and I can see that a lot of effort and love went into this game. Unfortunately, I didn’t really enjoy playing it. While I don’t mind repetitive gameplay per se, I think grindy games need to offer you a sense of progression in some way or form to keep you hooked. In Island Saga, this sense of progression is largely absent. Dungeons, monsters, quests, items and skills are only nominally and/or cosmetically different; the underlying gameplay stays the same for hours on end. Because the story doesn’t really go anywhere either, you end up feeling you’re playing a clicker – mindlessly hitting buttons for lewd. And well, if I enjoyed that, I’d be lurking on Google instead of Steam. From my games, I expect a bit more. Still, I tried to finish Island Saga.   There are eight reasons why this is my favorite game on this account.... 1 Light-hearted plot with a good cast of characters 2 On higher difficulties you do need to create strategies for combating the higher-level monsters 3 The job system based on weapon experience is an enjoyable novelty of the game 4 it’s a well animated game with a mostly full audio for the main 4 characters that I find more often than not I revisit for the... 5. ehhh this joke is getting played out you all know the real eight reasons 1-8 boobah Ultimately if you're into impressive peaks and valleys with your cup of mostly vanilla eroge this is the game for you if not then move along.

  I loathe almost every aspect of this game. I dislike the art, h-scenes, gameplay, story, and characters. It feels terrible to play, and I can't even bring myself to finish it after three years. I guess I just dislike over-sized breasts.

The following review is for the full version of the game and not the censored one. Island SAGA is a nice RPGM game by Kamichichi, therefore, as usual, sees a female cast made up of a large group of damsels particularly gifted in the mammary department. The game also boasts a fair number of peculiarities that distinguish it, for better or for worse, from other titles of the genre, in fact it does not make use of a system of levels and experience, but rather a progression systme like Final Fantasy II, where our decisions in battle determine the evolution of the characters. The frequent use of the various types of weapons, spells and party formations will determine how much a character will rank up in a certain skill, as well as the use will increase the rank of formations in battle. In addition, the spells must be learned, free of charge, in the relative shop and are mutually exclusive by element, so that each character can only learn three families of them, additionally there is also the possibility of randomly carrying out combined attacks. Another peculiarity is the impossibility of accessing the "Objects" command in battle, in fact these must be equipped individually as if they were weapons in the appropriate menu, at least until the backpack is found. In fact, the characters can equip more than one weapon at a time and in battle they will be able to choose which one to attack with, also for this reason, the combat interface is a bit chaotic at first glance. Even the progression of the story is quite unusual, it is in fact divided into quests, 40 plus 10 additional (then there is the New Game Plus, useful if you want to face one of the highest difficulty levels among the 5 available), but not every quest is necessary for the continuation of the narrative. Talk to the cat outside the guild having the girls in the group ("The cat talked!") can help to "correct" ("Where should we go?") any previously made wrong choices, which can prevent the appearance of subsequent quests, or to change the difficulty of the game. In addition, even the monsters of the random encounters, shown here on the map like in Chrono Trigger, evolve with the growth of our characters, therefore, being at high "levels" can easily lead to more harder random encounters than the bosses, who instead have fixed statistics. Therefore, a certain balance between story progression and grinding will need to be considered. The story is very simple, we are a prince who is tasked with finding the artifact of true love to save our parents' kingdom and marriage, a feat in which we will be accompanied by the four buxom princesses of neighboring kingdoms, all intending to marry us. We will therefore take up residence in the city of Eldia on the island of Valentine and the adventure begins, during which there will be some intimate moments with the girls, in scenes beautifully drawn and animated by hand. Also, if only some expressions during the game are dubbed, the steamy scenes are fully dubbed. In addition, during the New Game Plus, it will be possible, by equipping a certain accessory, to remove the clothes from the sprites of the girls, and, by changing the party leader with "W", we will be able to walk around with our favorite heroine naked. Il gioco vanta anche una discreta serie di particolarità che lo distinguono, nel bene o nel male, da altri titolo del genere, infatti non si avvale di un sistema di livelli e di esperienza, ma piuttosto di una progressione alla Final Fantasy II, dove saranno le nostre decisioni in battaglia a determinare l'evoluzione dei nostri personaggi. Saranno l'uso frequente delle varie tipologie di armi, delle magie e delle formazioni del party, a determinare quanto un personaggio salirà di grado in una determinata abilità, così come l'uso aumenterà il grado delle formazioni in battaglia. In aggiunta, le magie vanno imparate, gratuitamente, nel relativo negozio e sono mutualmente esclusive per elemento, sicché ogni personaggio potrà impararne solo di tre, non manca altresì la possibilità di effettuare, in maniera abbastanza casuale, attacchi combinati. Altra peculiarità è l'impossibilità di accedere al comando "Oggetti" in battaglia, questi infatti dovranno essere equipaggiati singolarmente come fossero armi nell'apposito menu, almeno fino al ritrovamento dello Zaino (oggetto "Backpack"). Infatti i personaggi possono equipaggiare più di un'arma alla volta e in battaglia potranno scegliere con quale attaccare, anche per questo, l'interfaccia di combattimento risulta un po' caotica ad una prima occhiata. Anche la progressione della storia è abbastanza inusuale, essa è infatti suddivisa in quest, 40 più 10 aggiuntive (poi c'è il New Game Plus, utile se si vuole affrontare uno dei livelli di difficoltà più alti tra i 5 disponibili), non tutte, però, sono necessarie per il prosieguo della narrazione. Parlare con il gatto fuori dalla gilda avendo le ragazze nel gruppo ("The cat talked!") può aiutare a "correggere" ("Where should we go?") eventuali scelte sbagliate fatte in precedenza, che possono impedire la comparsa di quest successive, o a cambiare la difficoltà di gioco. In più, anche i mostri degli incontri casuali, qui segnalati sulla mappa alla Chrono Trigger, evolvono col crescere dei nostri personaggi, pertanto, trovarsi a "livelli" alti può facilmente condurre ad incontri casuali più impegnativi dei boss, i quali invece hanno statistiche fisse. Pertanto bisognerà considerare un certo bilanciamento tra progressione nella storia e grinding. La storia è molto semplice, noi siamo un principe che viene incaricato di trovare l'artefatto del vero amore per salvare regno e matrimonio dei nostri genitori, impresa nella quale verremo accompagnati dalle quattro formose principesse dei regni vicini, tutte intenzionate a sposarci. Prenderemo dunque casa nella città di Eldia sull'isola di Valentine e l'avventura inizia, nel corso della quale non mancheranno un po' di momenti intimi con le ragazze, egregiamente disegnati e animati a mano. Inoltre, se solo alcune espressioni durante il gioco sono doppiate, le scene piccanti sono invece lo sono completamente. In più, durante il New Game Plus, sarà possibile rimuovere i vestiti dagli sprite delle ragazze e, cambiando il party leader con "W", si potrà andare in giro con la nostra eroina preferita come mamma l'ha fatta. You go from point "A" to point "B", collecting quests and grinding your way to victory. Every so often a dialogue or quest will lead to a lewd scene — lewd scenes are few and far between, a consequence of the [i]length[/i] of the game. Instead of gaining "experience" and using "level-ups" to bolster your party's stats, your individual skills and stats get better through use. For example, if a character uses their bare hands to fight, they're bound to pick up a few tricks after they throw enough punches. Enemies scale to the player's stats, but if you find combat too tough you can always set the difficulty level. [h1]Story[/h1] Before your journey begins, you must choose a name for the main protagonist. By default, his name is set to "Protag", so I think it's safe to say that's his canon name. Welcome Protag! Protag, the son of King Gultul, is to be married to one of King Bal's daughters. None of his daughters are privy to his hand in marriage. Unfortunately, King Bal has no male heirs for his kingdom. He needs at least one of his daughters to drop some babies — or risk the total annihilation of their home. Princess Iris agrees to marry Protag, but King Bal won't permit it — not until Protag proves he has the makings of a king. King Bal decrees that he must sail to Valentine Island, and seek the artifact "of true love", or the Love Rheid. King Gultul eagerly arranges for a transportation, as he hopes this artifact will help him and his wife fix their marriage. At least, that's what he tells Protag. If not, you'll be stuck watching clouds. Lame. From "Options" you can adjust a wide variety of audio, control and visual preferences. It's a bit unsorted, but certainly fleshed. For an RPGMaker title, [i]I'm impressed.[/i] [b]- The Goods -[/b] There's at least twenty CGs to unlock, each with a few variations and some with light animation. There are quite good — not quite top-notch, but top tier that's for sure. Each set of CGs comes with a brief sex scene, and in some cases, mild interactivity in the form of dialogues. Expect female nudity and male-on-female sexual intercourse. [h1]Verdict[/h1] I recommend this game, if you like grossly-oversized boobies and want to try a [i]different[/i] lewd RPG. Considering the amount of content, I think it would be [i]reasonable[/i] to pay full price for this title.   Pretty High Quality H-game for the price. Patch takes a while to extract after downloading (30-ish minutes for me). But the game is good. Story is not too deep, you and your harem on a quest but it is entertaining. H-scenes so far are good and have a little animation/movement to them.(No Ntr so that is sweet) Gameplay is standard rpg. 9/10, if you liked Melty's you'll like this.

  Island Saga, is an H-game about a prince and 4 very well-developed women who are in love with the Prince. These 5 individuals are tasked to go and retrieve a relic that will help the MC choose who he will marry. Now, allow me to talk about the game here. If you want the patch it is [url=https://remtairy.com/patch/#island-saga] right here. [/url] Gameplay. The gameplay focuses on 5 characters who can equip and use any type of magic. Now, I didn't stick with NORMAL difficulty as when I went to fight the Rat King, I saw how much damage I was doing and how much he did to me and realized that I was in danger. So I lowered the difficulty to Super Easy and decided there is more in life instead of challenging myself. Now allow me to talk about something that I found personally weird, which is that your characters do not actually lvl up within the game. After a certain amount of battles or turns or wtvr a character or all of them will have a specific stat or some stats and sometimes an equipment or magic lvl up if they used that equipment or magic enough. Which is weird because it gave me some serious FF 2 vibes, but that is okay because you don't have to have your characters get hurt in order to raise like vitality or hp. Other things to note gameplay wise is that chests do respawn unopened after awhile, which is nice. So if you are having trouble in something and you can't buy good equipment, then farm chests and hope for the best. You could get some choice stuff from it. Also did I mention that the protag looks like your typical hentai protag, which means he is Alpha as all fuck. He also barely talks, which comes off as relatable for some people if they barely talk. H-Scenes Honestly really is to get, as the H-scenes are rather straightforward and require no true galaxy size brain to acquire them. If you do feel like you are going to have trouble getting them all, then do check the game's folder as their is a hint for getting the town events. As for quest h-scenes, if you are lost then go talk to the cat near the guild hall. He will help give you some direction, or check the flowchart in the menu screen. But the H-scenes themselves are rather nice as they are all animated to a decent extent and are also fully voiced. Another note which is a spoiler btw. [spoiler] The true ending is rather nice as I am sucker to harem endings. How does the harem ending go about you may ask, well allow me to sum it up. You go to a mountain to meet some fairies, go to the future a little bit, kill this robot, go out and talk to Titania and tell her you did it, leave, and then talk to the Goddess of Love where she basically tells you you got the Beheliet and can do Griffith's life long dream happen. That's right! Kill all guys in the world and make yourself the sole male which allows every girls to want to fuck you. Or you can reject your humanity and stick with the same 4 girls you had on your journey and have an orgy with them in heaven for basically eternity from what I am seeing here. Use the beheliet to accomplish Griffith's Dream or Fill my heart up with 4 girls who will love me for who I am? [/spoiler] Would I recommend the game? Yes, yes I would. Why would I recommend it? Because I am a simple man who is also a man of culture. So in short, I would recommend it buying it.   I really wanted to like this game, because I enjoy Remtairy's work in general, and, to be fair, the game does have some fine qualities. I will not, however, be playing this game a second time... which means that a little less than 14 hours is all I'll be getting out of this game--take that how you will. TL;DR: Combat is okay, smut is good, quests are mostly fetch quests and involve a LOT of walking around. I really didn't like the quests. Let's talk specifics (MILD SPOILERS AHEAD). The combat is somewhat typical RPG faire: five characters and one to four monsters stand in various formations taking turns beating the snot out of each other, in a dance as old as 1980s video game RPGs. The party formations might be fun to play with, for some... but I found that I preferred the traditional three meatshields in front of two glass cannons/casters, and that worked for pretty-much the entire game. I did feel like I saw the same ten wandering monsters in every dungeon except the last, where suddenly we had a whole different set of monsters. Seriously, people, there was more sprite variety in the original Final Fantasy (yes, the 8-bit masterpiece on the NES). The smut is... good. Not great, but they do give you a half-dozen or so H-scenes per female character, give or take, along with the option to engage each character in an interactive style of choose-your-own-smut which reminds me of the old strip-and-screw games from fifteen years ago. The girls are hot, if you like... extensive "plots." Seekers of "justice" should seek elsewhere. The initial flirtation with the girls is great, although I have to wonder what sort of kingdoms churn out princesses willing to join a prince's harem. That's not how alliances are formed; that's how wars are started. Finally, let's talk about *sigh* the quests. Seriously, 95% of the time you're not watching the H-scenes (and before you can get to the H-scenes), you're running around doing fetch quests for everyone, and I mean EVERYONE in the game, whether it's looking for someone's lost panties, clearing out a rat nest, or gathering individual flowers for a bouquet. Yes, the game sent me to multiple unspecified locations to find seven flowers on the ground. Yes, this was a quest. And I completed it because I'm OCD with my games. It gave me neither pride nor joy. And to make matters worst, the game will actively prevent you from finishing two quests at once. Two concurrent quest goals were within approximately 20 paces of each other (one of them involves proof of bravery), and reaching the first goal resulted in being TELEPORTED BACK TO TOWN. It's just a middle finger to those of us that value efficient adventuring, and quests like that are why I'm not playing this game through again. To sum up, people who enjoyed Melty's Quest should manage their expectations where this game is concerned. There's less porn, less game, less art, and more... quest filler. I'm not going to ask for my money back--I don't think people should get to enjoy (somewhat) something for 14 hours and then ask for their money back. Besides, I'm doing my part to keep Remtairy doing what they do--bringing me hentai games. Keep supporting Remtairy, people, and remember that even good companies will occasionally mess up. Manage your expectations.
