  I am not very good at video games in general; I generally fire a game up when I am 6 to 8 beers deep and I like a simple game that is semi-challenging yet not too complicated, and Warpips is a perfect scratch to that itch. I see almost all of the negative reviews are based around the concept of army-building RNG (you get random unit rewards for conquering regions and have to attack the next regions with whatever you get) and that when you attack a region with an army, you lose all of the units you attacked with even if you win. 1. This makes sense because if you capture a region you would need to keep troops there to secure it. 2. I have played this game blind drunk and if the game is too hard for you because you don't have enough units to keep attacking then you suck at games even more than I do and I feel bad for you. It has a great soundtrack and very fun graphics, the explosions are fantastic, and you can cheese the game with a sniper cohort for infinite money in most battles. It's not a very deep game, nor does it cater to someone looking for a micro-managing tactical genius-type game, but it doesn't try to be. It's a simple, fun, colorful explosion simulator. 10/10 would sacrifice hordes of conscripts against minefields again.

  Just the right amount of challenge so far in the early access version. Warpips has this odd mix of classic Command & Conquer nostalgia with the soundtrack and faux PS1 graphics while being its own style of game. The quasi hands off combat still has me managing multiple things at once and every playthrough is an absolute blast. I find myself coming back to it a lot to either spend a few minutes while waiting on something or spending hours just burning through the campaign yet again. Definitely worth a pickup if you've ever touched an RTS from the 90's or early 2000's.

  If I had this game back in the ArmorGames era I would not have seen the light of day Someone remake Warfare 1917 like this and I'll spend $60 on it

  A very polished and enjoyable tug-of-war game. Build a roster of units that counter each other in rock-paper-scissors fashion and play them intelligently. If you've enjoyed other tug-of-wars like the Nexus Wars arcade mod for Starcraft II, you will like this game. I just wish it had a player-versus-player mode.

  Bought this on a whim because of the sale and it looked cute, and I gotta say, I really like the style this game is going for. I want to call it a "lazy strategy" in the best way possible. You can take as much time as necessary to prepare for your missions and plan them out, and even on the field, there's ample time to understand your next move at every step. Units seem to have clear counters and strengths, upgrade progression feels nice, it feels well balanced all around. One of my favourite things about Warpips so far is, I never feel like I have to think about too much at once. I can enjoy the chaos, without straining my brain to the point that I can no longer focus on anything aesthetic at all {looking at you, Starcraft}. The fact that there is very little micro-management in this game means the player is truly in more of a "commander" seat, rather than an all-controlling god. You just say what your army should look like, and [i]when[/i] they should move, but they'll figure out the details themselves. Your main job tends to be appreciating the hilarious pixel-art mayhem that ensues after dropping hundreds of dollars on expensive war equipment. I would really just love to see more content for the game. More units, upgrades, abilities, maps and map types, multiplayer co-op and PvP, other game modes, almost anything honestly. I could see myself becoming addicted to this game for a long time if the devs continue to expand it and experiment. It's exactly the pace and level of strategy that I love, I just hope to see even more to it eventually.

  When I was a kid, my favorite game on the Sega Genesis was 'General Chaos' This game kicks the nostalgia door off the hinges for me Very simple gameplay that deeper fast, with a push your luck mechanic that lets you effectively govern early difficulty Shame there's no multiplayer
