  More of a simulation than a game until about the 10 hour mark where you learn what the core gameplay loop is. As pacing goes, this isn't ideal, but i would still say this game is a flawed masterpiece. An easy recommend for fans of evolutionary biology, neuroscience, and survival games with fantastic* game feel. The caveat is that learning the game does take a while, there are probably better ways to do what they are going for, but I'll be damned if it doesn't scratch the itch for a game where you play as early man. DO NOT pick up this game if you are expecting caveman simulator. You will get tantalizingly close by the endgame, but it doesn't ever get to the feeling of a tribe of early humans developing more advanced tools and culture. That being said, with a little more polish and some quality of life improvements, maybe even a content patch expanding the endgame a bit, I would easily recommend this game to anyone.

  Feeling super betrayed that I suffered through hours and hours of extremely repetitive gameplay only to find that the game's goal to evolve into the missing link is a 10 second cutscene and then a reversion to your last save.... You do not get to play the last evolution. Even after the credits. You get reverted to the previous species. Like, you seriously could not be bothered to code in the entire reason for playing this game? Unreal... After a certain point the game becomes EXTREMELY repetitive and you have to suffer a lot of tedium to stick it out and finish the game. Getting to play that sweet final evolution was well deserved. TLDR, you will never escape, you will always return to monke.

  Live the way your ancestors lived. Overcome your ancient adversaries including the Green Mamba,Giant warthog and sabre tooth cat. Use tools to create medicine,bed,timber walls and weapons. This game is magnificent. 20/10 the extra 10 is for the magnificent scientific species names and traits. Graphics are phenomenal controls are amazing. Biomes are Magnific. This game should win game of the year WOW JUST WOW.
