  I was pretty surprised to find out I had to pay for a DLC to finish the base games story. The story just abruptly stops halfway, you go onto the map to find out the next chapter is a DLC. Why was it not atleast added into the VR version to make a complete game? I'm even more surprised to see there's no reviews for this, am I the only one stupid enough to buy it? The content seems ok so far from what I've played but i'm thumbing it down because it's just content that should have already been in the base game. Would not recommend buying it unless you are really bored like me.

  Well, I'm not 100% sure exactly if I'm on the DLC part of the game yet, but I'm fighting zombies with tentacle faces now, which fits the DLC's pics in the store, so I'll assume I'm there now. Assuming I'm right, the review: It's definitely spookier than the base game, what with all the tentacles and the spooky cyborg lady, a step in the right direction for a game that includes a flashlight that you never need to use. I'm *really* indifferent about the shield mechanic, if you use guns, it makes things take longer to kill, and is a little boring; if you use magic/skills/whatever, then your attacks go right through their shields anyway, so it's irrelevant for you. Scrap the shield mechanic, it's a dumb, stapled-on gimmick that didn't need to happen. Anyway, I find it a little scummy that the last third of the game's actual story, the climax itself, is locked behind a DLC; definitely something I'd expect from a mobile game (*cough*), not a PCVR game. Sure, Act 3 contains enough "new" content to help sell the deal and help make things a little more worth it, but it's definitely not nearly enough to blow any minds or make anyone suddenly want to buy it. There's also a few little complaints I have, like one level starting you out in basically a closet with hundreds of enemies right outside the door; I had a grenade launcher and what was basically a BFG, so getting out without instagibbing myself was a pain. Anywho, I gotta stop before I ramble for too long. TL;DR: the DLC is worth it on sale, but it's a big eehhhhhhhhhhh from me if it's at full price. You can beat the DLC in an hour or two if you rush it, and there isn't enough NEW content to justify the full price.
