Các tính năng của Dwarf Fortress

Prepare for the deepest, most intricate simulation of a world that has ever been created.

  • Not just generated geometry -- a whole simulated world. Generated rise and fall of civilizations, personalities, creatures, cultures, etc. Infinite hours of gameplay.

  • Now with beautiful pixel graphics!

  • Learn the basics with in-game tutorials

  • A lifetime “living” project - created/updated since 2003, with no end in sight

  • Generate your unique world and manage a bustling colony of dwarves, even as they probably mine towards their eventual demise.

  • A new endless hobby, just for you!

The legendary Dwarf Fortress is now on Steam! Build a fortress and try to help your dwarves survive, despite threats of starvation, dragons, and madness.

In this complex construction/management/roguelike simulation, every generated world brings a unique challenge, whether it’s dwarves with their own simulated personalities or aquifers. Observe what makes your civilization fall into eventual decline, and learn for next time… until something else inevitably goes wrong.

The combat model includes skills, body parts, material properties, aimed attacks, wrestling, pain, nausea, various poison effects, and much more.

It’s difficult to convey the depth of the generation. Hundreds of animals and monsters, many of which are randomly created for each world, as well as generated poetry, musical forms, instruments, and dances for your dwarves to practice and perform. A dynamic weather model tracks wind, humidity, and air masses to create fronts, clouds, storms, and blizzards. Over two hundred rock and mineral types can appear, in their proper geological environments.

Remember: Losing is fun!

Nothing substantial is new or changed, under the hood. It’s still good old Dwarf Fortress, but with graphics support and music by default. A few bells and whistles won’t change that.

You may already be familiar with the tile set mod packs from Michał “Mayday” Madej and Jacob "Ironhand" Bowman. Together, their efforts are creating an all-new tileset featuring brand new pixel art by artists Carolyn Jong and Neoriceisgood. Dwarf Fortress Steam edition will have a 15 track soundtrack by Dabu, Simon Swerwer and Águeda Macias including tracks in the Dwarvish language!

It's never been easier to start playing! We've improved the new player experience with the addition of tutorials to guide you through building your first fort and keeping your dwarves happy.

Command your dwarves as they search for wealth in their generated mountain. Your dwarves will need a steady supply of food and beer, but they’ll also need your guidance in surviving attacks from hostile civilizations, the wilderness, or even the dead.

  • Craft treasures and furnitures from various materials

  • Establish a barony and support the increasingly demanding nobility

  • Read your dwarves’ thoughts to keep them happy

  • Build floodgates to divert water for farming, and/or prevent magma mishaps

  • Build structures and watch your dwarves discover and build their culture, like taverns, libraries, temples, honey, wax, pottery, animal training, bookbinding, and more.

  • The original inspiration for RimWorld, Prison Architect, Minecraft and more.

  • One of the first video games acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York

  • Updated for over 16 years by two brothers, Tarn “Toady One” and Zach “Threetoe” Adams

With the goal of simulating all of existence, Bay 12 estimates they’re only about 44% done.

Time is subjective STRIKE THE EARTH! After 20 years of development & an influence that changed the world of gaming forever, one of the most unique & storied titles in history gets one of the most exciting updates of them all... Graphics! Alongside that revolutionary new idea there's a plethora of new audio, a much improved UI experience, tutorials, Steam workshop support, and the warm fuzzy feeling of supporting developers that absolutely deserve it. Dabu's OST alongside Swerwer & Macias is an excellent addition, with "Winter Entombs You", "Koganusan" & "Drink & Industry" being my standouts. Regarding the difficulty/depth of the game, while it's true there's a hell of a lot going on both under the hood & in plain sight, there's nothing here that you shouldn't be able to tackle so long as you've the desire to learn & experiment. With improved in-game tutorials, a trimming of the menu fat, & a very friendly community to fall back on should all else fail, you'll be fine! On top of that, the publishers, Kitfox, have a couple of videos on their channel covering some of the basics, which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLN8cOcTjdo As for the game itself, we're talking about a sandbox where a thousand people could each play for ten thousand hours a piece & each have wildly different experiences. Things happen incredibly naturally & for nuanced reasons, rather than just because "the game thinks it's good that X/Y/Z should happen now." As far as living, breathing worlds go, Dwarf Fortress is a true simulation in a world of games, & while the games it's influenced are fantastic in their own right, if you find yourself wanting more weight & depth behind your worlds, you'll find that in abundance here. Perhaps most importantly though, we're talking about developers that are absolutely deserving of your time & support; a 20-year passion project that's only now going premium because of a fear of healthcare costs otherwise getting in the way of continued development of Tarn & Zach's magnum opus for 20 more years to come. It's a game with plenty of imitators & influence throughout the industry, but despite all of that, it's a game that stands alone in what is believed possible from a procedurally generated world. Simply put, it's a masterpiece that's only going to get bigger & better - & it's already bigger & better than anything else out there.

The greatest game ever made, now with controls a human can use! It won't be for everyone. It's still difficult, and complex, and deep. But for those willing to invest the time in learning it, there is no experience like Dwarf Fortress. My woodcutter just punched an alligator til it ran away. I have nicknamed him Steve Irwin. He enjoyed the fight.

As a rather devoted Dwarf Fortress player, this release is actually incredible. The sheer leap in quality and polish from the previous version to this one is actually unfathomable. However, it's not without flaws. Pros: -Cool new graphics -Extremely accessible compared to earlier versions -More than 2 songs -Menus are much easier to navigate now -New user interface is much more organized and visually pleasing -Mouse support makes several things much simpler -Integrated support for several quality-of-life DFHack features (Such as automining ores/gems) -General tedium has been heavily reduced -Embark screen has been heavily upgraded, and you can embark on mountains now -The labors menu has been completely overhauled to allow for extremely efficient micromanagement of dwarf labors -Several menus that previously had their own entire screen are now just windows, making the UI much less suffocating Cons (these mainly apply to previous DF players): -Completely removed the option to use ASCII graphics. As someone who played vanilla DF for a long time, I didn't realize how attached I was to the graphical style until the option to use it had been taken away. It feels as though the game has lost a certain amount of it's identity with the complete removal of the ASCII aesthetic. -Mouse support, while an amazing addition, has sort of overtaken the main method of navigating the game. This has had the unintended side effect of making certain menus way more tedious to use. For instance, when trading, you no longer have the ability to just hold shift+down arrow to select a bunch of items very quickly. You instead now have to individually click the check box next to every single item. Another unfortunate consequence is that (and if I am wrong about this PLEASE tell me) it is now impossible to make mining designation macros, because the in-game macro recorder doesn't record mouse button presses, which means I will have to manually designate my usual giant bedroom layout by hand in every fortress. -Almost all of the hotkeys have been completely changed. If you were an avid player before, you will quickly become lost if you try to use the hotkeys you've memorized. -Giving workshops direct designations is much less streamlined now that using the mouse is the main method of selecting menu items. Before, you could designate 10 wooden chairs by just hovering over the workshop and pressing A and then C 10 times. Now, you have to click on the workshop, click on the "Add new task" button, and then click on the search bar and type "chair", or scroll down the list until you find it, then click on it, then repeat that process 10 times. Now it seems the only efficient way of quickly ordering the production of a small amount of items is through work orders. -The Announcements screen and the Reports screen have been completely removed, replaced by little notifications that pop up on the left side of the screen. In my opinion, the way the game handled announcements previously was much better. The new system would be fine, if not for the fact that once you dismiss the notification associated with the announcement or report, you aren't able to go back later to see things that happened earlier, which you could do with the previous Announcements page, and to a lesser extent the Reports page (Reports only include info from "recent" combat). I want to be clear: this release is strictly an upgrade. Overall, the game is in a much better place now in terms of it's playability and accessibility. There has never been a better time to play Dwarf Fortress. However more advanced players who have been with the game for a long time may find the new UI and methods of control a bit frustrating. EDIT: Here's an important addendum that I need to make; after a few more hours of playing, I've realized that the addition of mouse support was actually botched pretty horribly. The new UI looks nice, but there is so much clicking. So much clicking. This wouldn't be an issue for other games, but Dwarf Fortress is the type of game that when you play it, you're probably going to be putting in a few hours in one sitting. This raises a serious issue when there is a single button that you use to do literally everything: repetitive strain. I have put roughly 8 total hours into my first fortress here (a small amount of time by DF standards), and my right index finger is literally just done. If you have issues with RSI or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, you should reconsider buying this game.

The depth of this game is simply insane. I'm currently playing a world where in year 1 of the history a Beaver demon created something called the "Palace of Perplexing" from which it has ruled The Hell of Principles for the last 100 years, conquering all challengers. After killing a bunch of people, it got bored and started having friendly wrestling competitions with neighboring dwarves, and now every year instead of being evil it throws its own version of the olympics, which it always wins because its a giant fucking beaver demon that shoots fire. It's not even related to my dwarves yet, its just a data point. Holy shit.

I played the tutorial, already knowing how the game worked just out of curiosity. Part of the tutorial was to chop a tree. My Lumberjack Dwarf was crushed to death by the tree. 11/10, would do the tutorial again.

    - build drawbridge over big pit at entrance to my fort - try to trade wood to elves - this makes them mad - do it again out of spite to make them madder - get attacked by elves - raise drawbridge - fling elves into air - they hit their heads on the roof and get stunned - lol - elves fall into the pit - one survives with broken legs - I name him Barry - throw garbage into the pit for Barry every now and then - I like to think he's happy crawling around down there
