  Infinite's campaign was alright. I want to start off and mention I put 30+ hours in it just to try and get the most out of it, but near the end I couldn't do anymore of the exploring and just wanted to go to the end. There are a lot of collectibles in this game and I probably will go back and get to them just for the 100%. I played on Legendary thinking it wasn't going to be that hard or anything, but boy was I wrong. Now the story was okay, kind of slow in the beginning but I won't lie I was enticed near the end. I won't say much about it and let you see for yourself but I will say it wasn't anything mind boggling. I found the characters to be rather flat, and I was hoping to enjoy Brohammer but I just couldn't care less about him. The weapon feels like a more immature Cortana in a sense; and Master Chief, was well more or less himself but after watching the cutscenes for Halo 5 the writing definitely is different and it's a tad bit annoying because of how inconsistent it is. I gotta say I love the Banished cutscenes in this game, there were times where I would get goosebumps just on how crazy the voice acting is. Let's talk about the world, I find it rather barren. When they showed the first couple of creatures, I was so excited for what more they could have added, little did my foolish self know, it was just small birds. No giant creatures or anything and just a bunch of mountains and grass. Speaking of which, it was just grass and mountains, dust and echoes, I was expecting more biomes or other areas that aren't forerunner structures or banished camps. I did love grappling around and scaling the world with that, and haven't really ridden in vehicles all too much(could be because I was on legendary and the enemies just blew up the vehicles so quickly) The combat is just as good as it is in multiplayer, if not better. I love the new boss fights, probably the best in the series. I wish there were more guns because I found myself only using like 3 the whole time, again, probably because I was playing on legendary but it didn't really force me to explore other weapons especially with the inclusion of the new ammo dumps. The boss fights were cool, they actually made me use the new tech to increase my chances of survival, they felt very tanky in terms of health and I wish they found out some sort of balance between a tanky boss and a boss that requires some sort of strategy behind it. Still, they were fun to fight for the most part. Now the best part of the game in my opinion, was the voice acting. It helped with the immersion so much in this game, I remember pushing a brute off the edge and him screaming "I'LL GET YOUUUUU" as he's falling to his death. It probably was the highlight of my experience which may or may not be a good thing. The grunts were also pretty good and didn't sound like inaudible goons. Just normal goons. I can also see Master Chief aging just ever so slightly with the raspiness of his voice and it sounding deeper than it used to be. Brutes sound good, elites sound alright (Except for the high grade elites, those guys sound excellent and I love the sheer authority they have in their voices). The music in this game is really good, like it doesn't sound like Marty's music but I want to say whoever did the sound design in this game has impressed me greatly. Never did I feel like the music was dragging on too much, and when there wasn't any music it was like something important or suspenseful was happening. Now the question remains, is this worth it? Yes. I do think it's worth it, I still haven't gotten all the collectibles, I still haven't fully maxed out my armor, but at the same time I feel as if it's not entirely worth it. Perhaps get this on sale unless you've been dying to play it and don't mind spending $60. In my opinion, I feel like it could definitely be way better, and hope to see more from the world of Zeta Halo. Halo Infinite campaign gets a

  This is my review for the campaign of Halo Infinite. No spoilers! When you first saw Halo, were you blinded by its majesty? Yes. Yes, I was.

  Story & Gameplay Thoughts:

  Halo Infinite's campaign is a true return to form for the franchise after the missteps made in Halo 5: Guardians. The story is overall solid and provides plenty of enjoyment for a returning fan although I do not agree with 343 that this would be an accessible story for new comers. That said, a person new to the franchise would have a lot of fun with the gameplay which is extremely fun, responsive and engaging so if you don't really care much for the overall narrative and are new to the franchise you could definitely have some fun. Outside the story there is plenty of side content if that sort of thing is of interest to you such as rescuing marines, taking down targets and outposts or just exploring the beautiful world of Zeta Halo.

  Crashes, Performance & Bugs:

  So far I haven't experienced any bugs. I have had 1 crash but because the game saves fairly constantly I didn't lose any progress. The performance is absolutely fine for me as well with no issues across the entire open world and campaign.

  If you want to get the most out of the narrative:

  If you wanted to play some of the other titles before jumping into Infinite then I would recommend picking up the Master Chief Collection which is very cheap in sales and play Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4. As Halo 5 and Halo Wars 2 is not on Steam at the moment I would recommend watching a campaign summary just so you are aware of how a couple of story threads progress into Infinite.

  Pros:

  <*> Good story that embraces both old and new Halo. <*> Superb and focused weapon sandbox. <*> Great gameplay. <*> Good amount of content. <*> Fun boss fights. <*> Beautiful open world. <*> So many throwbacks for long-time fans through the dialogue and level design.

  Cons:

  <*> No mission select after the story at launch. <*> No co-op at launch. <*> Some of the campaign mission level design gets a little repetitive. <*> I think having an in-game codex with lore would help it be more accessible to new players.

  Conclusion (TL;DR):

  While not the best Halo campaign to date, Infinite shows that 343 can make an extremely good Halo game and take on feedback from their past missteps and it is still very high up in my personal rankings. Infinite is the perfect blend of the old and new and is extremely rewarding for returning fans. A newcomer to Halo may be bogged down with the narrative, but I am sure they would have a blast fighting their way across Zeta Halo. I am very excited to see what 343 will deliver next.
