  An absolutely wonderful game. 9/10. If you've enjoyed games like Factorio, Satisfactory, Anno, or other logistics games, then simply buy this one -- it's for you. It's a logistics game at its core, like Factorio, but with inventive, unique mechanics that definitely establish it as its own game. You interact with the game in a "god-like" view, making it somewhat more like a city builder. You have a population to take care of, which require food, water, and other items that you'll produce; but it's very logistics-focused, and not at all like e.g. City Skylines. It's only not 10/10 because it's very slightly rough around the edges, but it's progressed impressively during Early Access and is certainly ready for hundreds of hours of play and enjoyment. Highly engaged, wonderful developers. This game goes on my list of "best games of all time".

  Addicting. Prepare for Death Spirals. I've spent 5 games and 16 hours dying to a different supply chain bottleneck. And I still am not even a quarter of the way through the map or the tech tree. Reccomended if you suffer from autism and/or Factorio enjoyment.

  I haven't written a review for this yet? Darn! Short version: Recommended. Longer version: CoI is another entry into the genre of factory games, specifically the top down management ones (aka, you're an invisible force, not a guy/mech walking around in the factory you build). What sets this game apart from it's competitors is - realism-based industrial chains and processes - terraforming and open pit mining with actual terrain physics - a slow progression based around fine-tuning new recipes for higher efficiency with the limited resources you have (rather than plastering the map with copy pasted factories) - difficulty, by virtue of actually being able to lose (due to running into a logistical blackout, or simply being too wasteful and running out of a critical ressource before you managed to unlock an alternative) In particular the grounded nature of it's setting makes the game oddly appealing: Sure, fighting hordes of alien with railway artillery can be entertaining, and there's a certain appeal to turning an entire planet into a ball of metal that pumps out Dyson Spheres... but somehow that can't beat actually planning out an open pit mine, and watching your excavators slowly chip away at the coal deposit, turning the 'untouched forested hill region with specks of coal' into 'massive crater stripped of any valuable ressources', whilst slowly progressing from truck-ferried loads of coal, to belt-fed steam turbines, to a self-sustained eco-paradise. There's also a massive amount of control, notification, and QoL features. A common occurence in factory style games (to me, at least) is to go in, play, and then notice that some obvious feature you know from another game is missing. None of that in CoI, it's all there, and more. Be it blueprints, automated notifications for storage levels, precisely limited cargo transports... Really, the only thing missing might be a turing-complete digital automation system... but then again I also haven't yet run into a situation where I would actually need one. And, as a final positive note: The developement team. There's a lot of EA titles that just dumple around and then there's an occasional 'update' with a few bugfixes so that the dev team can claim the game is totally still being developement and not just a resting cash grab. But with CoI, you get regular updates, plentiful devlogs (even going into technical depths that are incredibly fascinating as a programmer) and a constantly evolving gameplay. So, overall, I'd argue this might very well be my absolute favorite of the factory game genre. Sure, it can't quite compete with the stunning asthethics of Satisfactory, and it doesn't bring the action and insane mod volume of Factorio, but when it comes down to just having solid factory gameplay, noone can outdo the Cap'n. Score: 8/10 The graphics and soundscape are not exactly breathtaking, and the performance can start getting dice on larger factories (though the patch end of month might actually fix a lot of the latter), but everything else from core gameplay to polish is a solid recommendation to any genre fans. And also anyone interested in trying out the factory genre to begin with.

  Good - Realistic style. - Deep production chain. - Ton of products, buildings, and recipes. - Unique mining & transport system. - 3d belt & pipes. - Product matters (for settlement consumption and building real stuff, not just science resources black hole) Cons - Need careful attention - Death spiral can be stressful to solve - No trains :(

  10/10 - Do Not Recommend I installed this game and suddenly it's 32 hours later. I don't know where the hours went. I'm not even sure if I ate or slept. Do not buy this 10/10 game.

  If you like logistic game like Factorio, Satisfactory, or DSP, buy this game. This game provides tons of fun of logical thinking. If you're hesitate to buy this game only because it's early access, buy this game. There're tons of contents in current state. Around 100h contents included that devs mentioned is not a lie. If you like challenging resource management game, buy this game. There're 3 difficulties and hardest one is quite challenging. If you worry about game ui or complexity, buy this game. Tutorial document is very detailed and easy to understand. UI is easy to use and some QoL mechanics are already implemented.

  TL;DR

  Buy this game if you're interested. You won't regret.

  As someone with 1800 hours in Factorio, and 200-500 in Dyson Sphere, Satisfactory and Factory Town (and more), I can honestly say this is the best Factory game in my library. The logistics are great, the mining mechanics are superb, the progression is meaty and rewarding. I could go on for hours, but the TLDR is that if you think factory games are your bag, then this is The One.

  Great game - I personally am not very good at it lol. Maybe too complex for my 62 year old brain. But i keep trying, so yeah it is a fun game i enjoy. Also, there are a lot of very friendly and helpful people on here that will talk you through any situation you are having trouble understanding. Those people i deeply appreciate for sure. Without them i would have had to just quit playing.

  Be careful with this game, it's addictive like Factorio or Dyson Sphere program. The game is also more tricky to play and it is hard to master. Production is more complex then in other similar games. Production chains are intertwined, co-dependent and almost everything has byproducts you need to deal with. Getting clogged by any single one of them can have tragic outcome. You need to prevent this by using multiple ways of dealing with these byproducts, setting backup options with priorities and adding input/output buffers. One example: Advanced oil refining, your way to create diesel for your trucks, creates light and heavy oil byproducts. You can burn it into the air or you can burn it in steam boilers. But you don't have stable generation of these products so you need to add it along your stable coal boilers with priority to burn light/heavy oil first. Oil refining also uses the steam, so it's a good idea to have a priority system for steam output as well. And what about the other byproduct, sour water, which can support multiple production chains after it's cleaned and refined? Getting rid of this byproduct has it's own byproducts, so good luck! And it goes on and on until you win or die trying.
