  Where did my life go so wrong that my first steam review is on a deeply flawed, bug ridden, yet conflictingly enjoyable H game developed by 2(two) people… no matter As of writing I’ve completed Sword x Hime twice, meaning the completion of all stages until the end credits screen. The game is somewhat clunky, filled with bugs ranging from somewhat minor visual glitches, to an inability to save, open the menu, enemies simply allowing themselves to be attacked until death, and reports of many more. None of this is surprising given the size of the team and type of game and while frustrating I was able to work around them reasonably easily. So, giving the creators the benefit of the doubt that they will eventually remedy these… let’s talk about the game The game has a lot of the hallmark traits of “plenty of vision, lack of resources’’, that is to say it’s clear the developers had a strong idea of what they WANTED to make but haven’t been able to realise a large part of that vision, they have claimed that they wanted to release in early access and I believe that would have been healthier for the games success but alas, no. Let’s talk the good, the mixed, and the bad The Good: The main heroine - has a surprisingly high quality design, is attractive, with nice proportions, and a decent yet slightly unfitting (in my opinion) voice, overall the heroine they’ve created is arguably the strongest part of and one of the major draws of the game, unsurprisingly given it’s a H game. The H animations - now, let’s be honest the primary (non financial) purpose of this game is to engorge your loins, get you hot and bothered, and hopefully carry you to sweet release. The H animations are plentiful and surprisingly high quality, smoothly animated, and utilise a variety of positions ranging from standard to amusingly creative and almost all are tantalizing, this combined with the heroine is an effective combo to be sure. The heroine’s voice actor - my first thought upon spawning into the “hub” world and hearing a random voice line was that the voice, while pleasant was a little unfitting for the character design of the heroine, though I admit it grew on me enough to the point of no longer feeling totally out of place The costumes - I’m starting to see a pattern here… the costume design is excellent, 20 different outfits (at the time of writing) largely all unique, all very high quality, and all with their own charm, The music - the music is almost suspicious, it’s extremely good and may not have been made by the developers You’ve probably noticed by now that (in my opinion) the developers put a large amount of attention towards the enticing part of the game and they’ve done an impressed job for the size of the team… however doing so was not without heavy sacrifice The Mixed: Enemy Design - in a game like this enemy design is more than simply, slash at the enemy to progress, no, it’s also a major part of the experience as these enemies (all of them) are your potential parters and surely there are a lot of them, HOWEVER the art style the game uses for most enemies is heavily cartoonish and not generally attractive, this isn’t the case for all but is the majority, this can be considered a mix simply due to individual taste, some may find it particularly enjoyable akin to the “ugly b____” often seen, others may find it off putting. At the very least several of the parters designs are amusing Game play - the game play is more of a tool to achieve the H than something to enjoy, it’s not exactly terrible but it does nothing particularly well, to defeat enemies you spam click and utilise your 3 buff skills and 1 dash skill, it’s pleasant enough to have some form of game play to link the H but it could have used a non buff ability and added a form of dodge or special skill. The H is unlocked by either surrendering with a hotkey or by receiving a particular attack from an enemy which they often use, If hit by a H attack the enemy will regenerate it’s health to full, this is fine if intentional and would be more interesting and engaging if A) enemies were harder to kill (especially bosses) and B) it wasn’t possible to simply hit ESC after receiving the attack to cancel the H and cancel the HP regeneration, further in the event you are knocked down by losing all your HP the enemy should auto H and regenerate instead of standing and waiting for you to stand up with full HP again Weapons - there are 10 weapons, each have unique designs and are reasonably well made however the balance of the weapons is lacking with clearly superior choices General Audio - not particularly good or bad, some sounds are odd, out of place, or annoying, others add slight flavour Purchasable Perks - the game has several purchasable perks, these range from increasing HP and Regeneration, increasing damage and lowering buff CD, it adds to the game but has balancing issues Time for the bad, these either need to be completely overhauled, heavily altered, or at least tuned The Bad: Game Length - the length of the game will be influenced depending upon your indulgence in H, however in general you’ll get 1-4 hours, it’s short and it makes the game feel unworthy of the price Dialog and Quest Design - there is very little dialog, all of it is poorly written and likely google translated Map Design - lacking, mostly just basic assets dumped around an area with enemies scattered about, though each stage had a unique theme which was nice Central Hub - feels like they plopped the assets without much care, a bit pointless outside of the stage selection table Money and Stat Scaling - from the first stage none of the enemies pose much of a threat at all as far as getting knocked down is concerned, and if you spend even a small amount of time either doing the quests, running around looking for costume/weapon drops, or straight grinding you’ll be able to level up your stats and be able to 1-3 hit most enemies Costume and Weapon Procurement - upon entering the first stage I killed a group of enemies and obtained a fantastic costume, I “equipped” it using a hotkey and on I went, within 2 minutes I had obtained a weapon and another costume, for whatever reason the game is designed to throw new costumes at you almost by the minute. It barely gives you a moment to appreciate a costume you’ve just obtained before introducing something new. The outfits are purely cosmetic and look fantastic, but throwing them at the player greatly devalues them Gallery UI - they hand out every H animation at the start of the game, putting aside the issue that this arguably takes away the point of the game play, the UI is quite terrible, it’s annoying to navigate and difficult to find specific partners/scenes, though the “room” is a nice touch. Orcs - They seem to be used as a “filler” enemy, they have no H and instantly respawn in multiple areas which allows very easy grinding which ruins the combat I do believe this game to have potential assuming the developers stick with it, though realistically the game will remain deeply flawed I could go on but I’m approaching character limit and my dignity is wounded having taken the time to write this whole overview TLDR: a respectable effort made toward the H portion of the game, and a surprising quantity of it, decent potential for the future, however bug filled and deeply flawed when viewed as a “game” rather than material for “personal pleasure”

  Dear Diary, I have a new love in my life and I can't keep it a secret any longer. It all began as an innocent curiosity. I liked the idea of being a warrior girl who could fight naked. I knew there would be adult content, but in my excitement I did not read the entire description. My journey started as many others do, I was given a character model that I immediately gave larger breasts and thicker thighs. Pink hair and no clothing-- for science, you know. I'm so glad that I have you to entrust these small details to, Diary! Then I experimented with her movement and the different camera angles. My goodness, I could zoom all the way in! Neat! At this point, I was ready to go give some combat stuff a whirl. I wandered around town, picked up some quests, and went to the first area through the escape menu. Ready to kick some monster booty in the first area, I quickly learned that I could be stunned and that the monsters would have their way with me. Some of them with c*cks so impossibly large, I thought that my character would be impaled and die. But she took them all like a champ. (Atta girl!) I was so proud. After about an hour of sucking, f*cking, and bucking my way through a variety of horrifyingly erotic monsters, my glasses were completely fogged up. Sploosh and goodness gracious, my dearest Diary! I had to go drink a cold glass of water. The only downside to this game is that it can be a little bit buggy and some of the encounters have clipping glitches, but I have fallen completely in love. That's right, I am now in love with Sword x Hime. If that makes me a bad person, then consider me rotten. Easily worth the full price if this is your sort of thing.   PROS: + Beautiful female character model overall + Lots of variety in H positions + Lots of enemy types + Lots of clothing options + Fast and simple character progression + Quick access to different game areas through the submenu [TAB] + Devs regularly push updates CONS: - H animations are not very smooth - Female protagonist's butt is a little bit blocky and slightly unnatural looking. It needs rounding, like YorHa 2B's booty - The ARPG side of this H game is serviceable but broken and clunky I dream of a world where more mainstream video games like Devil May Cry contain H scenes. Can you imagine H scenes just being a standard in the industry? As time passes, I feel like we are inching closer to that dream when AAA series like The Witcher contains full female frontal nudity, sex scenes and now Steam is even in the business of selling pure H games. Sword x Hime is far below the polish of something like Bayonetta but I believe the devs align with that vision of H gaming. I bought the game at full price of €8.19 to do what little I can in pushing the industry in that direction. I have not seen another Steam H game blend H with action gameplay like this game, maybe Oneechanbara would be closest. I cannot say Sword x Hime is a shining beacon of The Glorious Age of H Gaming, but I think it is a small step towards it.

  I am really not sure what to do with this game. The sex animations which are probably one of the big reasons you would want to buy this game for are decent enough imo. I also like the variety of clothing you can pick for your character. The art in general is also good enough and performance wise it is also not too bad. The devs also already put in voice acting and some nice background music and sound effects. Those are all things that should sound pretty nice, now however I also have to say that there is no story, there is no tutorial or anything that might be nice to some people. The gameplay itself is also honestly just bad. I mean the fighting is pretty much just spamming mouse 1 and there is no reason to do anything really apart from collecting more clothing and money to make your character stronger. So there is also not really a point in playing it for long. On that front the game has a "home" world where you get some quests from that are really only kill this or that quests and they all just give you money as a reward. To fullfill the quests you have four stages in which enemies spawn. The spawns are unlimited so that as soon as you kill the enemies, new ones spawn. All in all, I cant recommend this game from a gameplay point as I also dont really think that even with updates that it will ever really get much fun to play. From a sex game view though if you just wanna look at all the animations and maybe put your character in some nice lingerie then it isnt all that bad for the price. If you dont go into the game having too high expectations then it could be decent for that. What I was pleasantly suprised by was for sure the amount of enemies and with that the amount of different sex animations, even if a lot are similar.

  This game saved my life. I am 27. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide. After learning of the severity of my self-inflicted damage, I was borderline suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man with no history of depression or anxiety. I have never had fits of rage, or been one to break down and cry, but I was in a low spot that just really buried me from being able to see the light on the other side. Having nothing better to do, I searched for a game I could play, ONE HANDED while I recovered. I somehow stumbled upon this game and read some of the reviews. I decided that it had to be worth a shot... I must admit, I didn't beat the game, or play nearly as long as some of you. In fact, I may have only played this game a day or two.. With that being said, after doing so, I had a new found joy and hope for life. I was able to put behind me the pain and suffering that had been cast over me. I was able to experience other peoples joy and happiness. I was able to see the fruits of my "labor". I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ing minutes to this music long enough to realize that I was going to be okay. After coming to that realization, I turned the game off, and I went back to work. It hurt my hand like hell but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so damn sorry for myself, and I became the father I needed to be in that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving as. Today, I am close friend with my kids mother. We don't fight, or argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents, and friends. I now have 3 kids. My third child is, wait for it, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my own separation, and we just stumbled in to each others life unexpectedly. We have been in a relationship for a year now, and are very happy together. Moral of the story, you never know what life holds in store for you, and if I would have given up when all the odds were stacked against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.

  Don't bother with the actual game, the devs give you full access to the gallery. Sex scenes are a little wonky, I won't lie, but there's tons of them. You'll find a lot of diversity here.

  Be warned: there is a lot of rape in this game. Basically fight or be raped. If the sexual content was as limited as the combat, this game wouldn't be worth the price of travel size pack of kleenix. Luckily the sex is plentiful, graphic, and diverse. If you are a good girl you can even choose which sexual positions your rapist will use. The game is pretty enough and runs smooth as silk. It could use more character customization. One face isn't enough, not even with all the clothing and body options. If the rape theme offends you there is a gallery where you can choose from dozens of sexual partners. Since you are choosing, it can't be rape, right? However, there are some issues with the game. No story. No dialogue choices. No loot other than coin. No exploration. Since this is a sex game these features shouldn't be missed too much. Also the game has some non sexual performance issues. Lots of character clipping through clothing, other characters, and even the environment. Most of the clipping happens at extreme camera angles, but not all of it. Some of the textures look bad. And the game loads slow. conclusion: will offend many. Will disappoint many more. But if all you want is some slash and sex, this game looks good. And plays good once it loads. Worth the sale price.

  the whole game could be so good if it had more to go on. love the sword movements and sexual content that is based on it. I understand reading the Dev's comments about how they were pressured to releasing it early. though I am sad it was cause the whole game it self would be amazing and I would play it more if the whole system wasn't bugged so much where monsters spawn in seconds, becoming easy to be raped after one or two hits, chances of changing the clothes that were gathered were able to be changed, monsters weren't spawned so tightly together, and the saved progress wasn't easily removed. But again, aside the whole list I mentioned of what's wrong, I believe this game would be amazing if the developers stayed and continued making the game and even maybe make a intro on the character of how she was there and why. Don't give up on this game, I believe you will make it something that will keep people playing it and fulfill their sexual play style.

  I took a gamble and did a release day purchase. Before launch, they disclosed the price, the game play length, and pretty much everything they were asked about. So I knew what I was purchasing before I purchased it. I played it for about an hour right after released and to be honest, was on the fence about requesting a refund. I decided to give the dev(s) a chance since they are currently active and transparent with the players in discussions. The first update patch was pretty quick and fixed a few issues that made game play better. It's a fun game for what it is and as long as the dev(s) continue to fix and update it, I'll recommend it.
