  Is it perfect? No. Does it have to be? No, it costs $1. Very fun game, worth buying at full price.

  To be honest, I wasn't expecting much but even the low price can't really save this game. Oil Invasion is clearly an asset-flip game with some Doom (1993 obviously) inspired enemies and weapons. I do have to say that the developer is honest on the store-page and does not make this game bigger than it is. The game has 6 maps/levels in total in which you shoot- and kill the 3 different enemies with either a pistol, double pistols, minigun, shotgun or rocket launcher. Throughout the map you have to find a 'star' which is suppose to be the key to open up a door to continue the level and finish it. You can pick up armor, healthpacks, bullets, shells and rockets.... which sounds obvious until you find out there is no need to use a pistol when a minigun uses the same ammo. Second problem in the game is that often your hits do not even register and the main reason for this is that enemies have to align exactly with you to be able to hit them. When an enemy is standing on a platform you can not hit them but even if the enemy is walking on a 5cm higher hill, you can not hit them. In the classic Doom you would kill any as long as you shot in their direction. Third issue is that most enemies often do not move or shoot back. You really have to do your best to get killed by enemies because as long as you click your mouse and find some bullets or healthpacks you should be fine. To be honest Oil Invasion would be really easy if not for the 4th problem; platforming. Your character has a weird-ass low gravity jump and since any type of water/poison/lava instantly kills you (which makes you replay the map) this could be a challenge to master. Since you can not look up or down you can't even see if there is a platform below you or a lava pit. Then there's the map design. Although maps look colorful they hardly make any sense. There are pathways which lead nowhere. There are stairs or bridges you can't just walk through without getting stuck, although the high low gravity jump often saves you. Graphical glitches, platforms you can't jump on, wide fields of nothingness, you name it. On the upside; You can get a cheap Doom and have fun for an hour.

  This game tries to capture the magic of Doom, Rise of the Triad, Duke Nukem 3D, and related FPS titles of the mid-90s. It succeeds at first in it's art style and enemies, until a bit of exploration yields that these enemies are inconsistent, as if from different artists or asset packs. It's also easy to fall off fo the map, go under the map, get lodged in the terrain, stuck between two objects that have adequate room based on what you can see of the asset but the hit boxes are wrong, etc. The soundtrack is My First Dark Synth style and is very repetitive. If made by a five year old, I'd be proud. If made by anyone of double digit age, I advise leaving soundtrack composing to those with musical aptittude. There are a few maps, about 6 to 8 altogether, accessible from the stock main menu. Pick a map, get achievements, clear waves. The problem is this game controls like you'd expect Catacomb Abyss to with a keyboard that's been recently soaked overnight in mountain dew. And there's motion blur. Not much customization as far as visuals, sound, etc. Seems like an asset flip but haven't been able to verify the source. I'll assume that it's a unique creation, given the outcome will be nearly the same. Graphics/Sound: 1.5 Gameplay: 1.5 Misc: 3.5 Value: 2.0 Total: 20% < F - Low quality but is a game. Avoid.>

  Medicore at best. -just a handful of levels, some of them are ok, others are trash -no saving at all, if you die, you have to replay the whole level again -some levels contain some platforming which really sucks, because usually if you fail, you fall into and die -if enemies are on a higher or lower ledge than you, you can't hit them -only 5 weapons + melee weapons which you always start with all of them -you can only switch your weapons with the mouse wheel and only in one direction WTF -short game overall -sure it's super cheat, but probably still not worth it
