  Weirdly addictive. Extremely fun in multiplayer. We have had more fun playing this together and pushing into overtime days then when we played Overcooked together. You may day dream of different restaurant set ups while not playing. There doesn't seem to be a save game option. If you and friends need to stop and you're past day 15 it'll save the franchise if you fail. If you want to save the game make sure you "Quit" and don't abandon. When you reload the game it will have a Recover Save option. You can invite your friends before recovering the save that way you can pick colors and don't end up matching each other. There is no sandbox option. The only way you will figure out how to use Combiners, Portioners and belts is by just buying and trying them in practice mode when you're already in a game. The levels are randomly generated which can be fun or a huge source of your frustrations in later days. Highly recommend the game, we played as a group during the playtest for over 50 hours and the massive amount of changes that came from playtest to release were a real breath of fresh air to the balance. We ended up playing another 50 hours and many nights staying up past midnight which doesn't happen for us as much anymore. If you don't have a group, their discord is very active with people looking to play together. They also post pictures of set ups, seeds and general advice or suggestions. Make sure to check it out

  It is a splendid game which truly shines as a couch/online co-op game. If you are able to wrangle some of your friends together the next several hours of your life will be filled with grunts and yelps as you all transcend to a state of higher (or lower) being. The rogue-like experience of adding restrictions and complications as you level up keeps the gameplay interesting, forcing you to alter your restaurant layout overtime, making you truly feel like you are managing and developing something unique. The replay-ability is endless as you strive to go further and further into the overtime days before franchising that original restaurant out to greater heights. Communication is encouraged, although it tends to degrade into nonsense in high pressure situations, which is fine as long as everyone has an established flow. Overall, it keeps the familiar feeling of Overcooked, but provides a welcome twist to the genre.

  It's so fun, I can't stop thinking about it and am dying to play again. I enjoyed Overcooked, but some of the wacky stuff got annoying like having to throw ingredients across a ship and such. This game it seems takes out some of that goofiness and focuses more on equipment you can buy in between days/rounds. Can really help you fill in areas where you need help. Had a great time with 2 other friends. I think you could solo play this but part of the fun was role-playing a bit and cooperating. I love the dev's design choices. Yes your run can end because you forgot one ingredient on one plate, but failure is part of the fun, you progress and unlock more things every time a run ends. Versus other games where failure is a prolonged downer state, this you fail, fail fast, it's over quick and you can get out and start another run. Great design choice. Takes the great progression of rogue-lites, combines it with some party game cooperation, awesome fun. If you are looking to play local-co-op or remote play, you need controllers. I will most likely buy this for my friends to support the developer after playing some remote play for a while. Cheers! PS: I love the mess customers leave after eating. Our inside joke is that if a customer is really happy with their meal, they make a mess on the floor, it's a sign of respect.

  On the surface this may seem like an Overcooked! clone, but it's actually quite different and I love this new addition to the genre. I actually think PlateUp! is closer to a heist game, or a very manual factory-optimisation game. There's two big loops - First, before every run, you can choose a floor plan, a first menu item, and some additional 'special' pieces of furniture that can break the game just a little bit. The floor plans are like choosing which of the series of rooms and walls is 'least worst' for your workflow. The menu items are pretty solid interesting recipes that have just enough steps in them so it's possible to screw an order up. I've seen a lot of variation in all three of those choices over six hours so there's a lot more to come. Second, before each of the 15 days in the run, you can buy new restaurant items, and rearrange every object to accommodate. This forces you to pause, reflect on the past day with your team, make some fairly consequential choices to tighten your loops, and attack the next day even better. "If I move the sink into the corner I don't have to move as much to make pizza dough" - "We can't afford both of these so which one will we keep in a cabinet and which one will get vaporised when the day starts?" There are some really gnarly cool things you can put in your kitchen, and they've put a lot of thought into what would make a kitchen 'em up fun. Some examples: conveyor belts and auto-platers, cleaning robots, speed buffs, items to influence customers' timers and ordering habits. Playing it solo or co-op always seems fair, and as you progress through the 15 days, things can get very tight. Just like Overcooked, there are some 'clutch serves' and nailbiting moments. I haven't yet made it all the way through a run, but it seems like afterwards, they're going to introduce another layer still of complexity. Bring it on.
