  Sad to say but right now it isn't worth the price. I have finished the game twice now, and still have time to refund it if I wanted. $20 for under 2 hours of gameplay is not good value no matter what kind of game it is. Right now this game is running on hype, which is the only reason I got it. The graphics are pretty good for pixel art. Yes the concept is a lot of fun, as getting that amazing shot is the kind of thing that got people addicted to peggle. For right now though, there is little meat on the bone here. No story, no meta-progression, and a handful of levels. In time that might change with early access, and if so I will redo my review here. Like most early access all we have are promises, and I've been burned too many times to trust them. So for right now I just can't recommend it for this price.

  I am on a fence about how to rate this game. The potential is gigantic the amount of content is abysmal. Three stages, only the 10 different balls from the demo, repeating levels non stop, no shop, no classes, no progression in any form. This is simply not worth 15€ at this stage. It reminds me a bit of Vampire Survivors when it came out in terms of content with the difference that Vampire Survivors costs 2€ and had a progression system that took me 8 hours to unlock everything. Balancing wise there are also a few things I personally dislike e.g. invisible stages feel so strange in a game about aiming the perfect shot, some relics and balls seem completely useless compared to others, but this is as expected from a new early access game. If you have limitless money support the dev and buy it and hope this game will be fantastic in the future, if not wait at least half a year and get it on a sale. After a few more runs with this game, I have to admit that the game triggers the same addiction that I felt with Peggle since the WotLK Peggle addon in WoW over a decade ago! However, I also feel validated by the lack of content: Elite Enemies repeat nonstop, there is no boss variety, and runs just feel the same.

  The price may be a bit steep for the current amount of content on offer, but I think it comes down to how much you think the core gameplay loop can hold your attention. I love me some Peggle, I've replayed those original games dozens of times, so I know this is a game that I'm going to end up returning to for years to come. I'm not that concerned with it's state right now, I'm just eagerly looking forward to seeing what's already good being expanded upon. Plus, look at the little guy! Look at that dude! Little dude! Adorable.

  This game is a blast to play, wonderful idea for a roguelite. If you played Peggle, it's got the same gameplay loop with added upgrades and relics. However, this game is nowhere near worth the price tag at this point. I feel like I've seen all of the relics and random events that there are, and I've only done a few runs of the game. Definitely wait for a sale, compared to similar games this one is priced way to high for what it offers. Its almost offensive that this game is priced Higher than Isaac and Gungeon On Sale. Even compared to Slay the Spire's higher price point at launch (with only one character) This game is dwarfed in content. There are a few later stage invisible levels that exist, they were Painful to run through. They remove almost all player agency and you don't even get that dopamine rush for getting a good score and seeing a wiped board... moreso a panic when your ball nears the bottom only for some deus ex invisible peg to raise it back up. The game needs some form of stage victory music. The dopamine rush from the drumroll and ode to joy on hitting the final peg (lethal in this case) is sorely missed in this game. I don't mean to keep drawing comparisons, but what else can you hold this game up to. Great in theory, but unless there is going to be Rapid expansions to this, don't buy for more than $10. There is also no permanent progression, unlocks, or achievements of any sort.

  This game is $19.99, and it has about $4.99 worth of content. What is there is fun, but there's not a ton of replayability or variety, due to the lack of content. It will probably be really good in a year or two!

  This game is SO MUCH FUN. I can spend loads of time going for certain builds, trying different strategies, really experiencing all the little micro and macro effects of all the orbs/trinkets/etc. As this game gets updated, I can tell it's going to get even better. But I also can't in good conscience recommend it at $20 where it is now. In its current state, it's buggy, short, and unbalanced. It's very promising, and I'll ride this train wherever it goes, but if you're even mildly on the fence, don't buy it. (yet) See where it goes first.

  Peglin is a game with a solid theoretical foundation. The gameplay is fun and well realized, there is a good mix of micro and macro decision making, and the soundtrack bops. This is coupled with a dev team that is actively working on balance and creating more content. I am very much looking forward to the game Peglin becomes. The caveat is the future tense in that last sentence. Peglin is very much lacking in content at the moment, especially considering the $20 CAD asking price. Rex Nexus has released a strong proof of concept. It just needs more. More enemies, more items, more encounters, more bosses, and especially more stages.

  More peggles is always nice yes? It IS nice, but there is a serious lack of content. 3.5 hours in and it feels like I've seen all there is to offer. Of course it's still early access, so maybe there is more to come, But at the point of this review at least, you are better off not spending too much on this title.
