  The pixel-art is amazing and it has both the Castelvania, old Megaman sprite-like look, and the bigger higher res fullscreen images and backgrounds. It's honestly beautiful. I'm sure I'll keep enjoying the hell out the game discovering the world, the story and gettin' good with the mechanics.

  Briefly: - Will immediately remind you of Castlevania - Is apparently short, but I don't have a lot of time to play games so short is fine, although... - ...replayability would be nice. This doesn't seem like a metroidvania at all. - Music is good - Controls are great - Enemies are meh - Map is fine, but I haven't had to backtrack so.. - Love the pixel art, though the environmental graphics can also be meh at times Recommended, but don't expect a metroidvania, and go in knowing it's a short experience. Like Super Metroid, except Super Metroid can be replayed for ~30 years.

  This game has satisfied all of my Metroid needs! The artstyle is amazing. The OST slaps, and so do the bosses slap me hard! I have only begun to play this game (about 3 hours in), so I don't know how long the game is or what the ending is like. All I know is: if you love Metroidvania's, this is something you MUST own in your library! (And it's on sale 'till the 3rd of April, wew!)

  Gameplay

  The gameplay has so far been mediocre, and features like backtracking don't exist. In terms of gameplay, it is extremely simple in a 1-shot get it done style. You travel from place to place fighting the most tedious foes that remind you of the old, tiresome beasts from Ocarina of Time, where you have to wait until you can actually harm them and then entering when the coast is clear. Once you have found a piece of armor that will allow you to progress, you just move forward, there are currently no secrets, nor are there any real challenges.

  Issues

  It's a tremendous shame that it seems like the designers went all out on the visual appeal of this game to entice you to give it a shot just on the basis of that. No iFrames because it is a pointless back-step that can prevent damage that doesn't hit you. They ought to have provided a typical dodge, in my opinion. If you run out of mana, the game will show a quick time event the moment it happens. If you press (R2) at the appropriate time, you can recover all of your mana. If, however, you take damage, your mana is lost, and you must wait until you get a kill or the boss you are fighting phases through to the red phases. You can hug the bear, but that will normally get you hit by the boss since you have to revert to your normal form out of armor power.

  Conclusion

  Although I have only played the game for a short two hours, I do intend to keep playing in order to experience more of what it has to offer. For now, I will make the most of what has been given to me. It doesn't seem to be all that appealing. I've been watching this game for a while, like many others, and once again I am let down by what's provided. High-quality graphics and a weak foundation.
